Rod joined WestLB's Metals & Mining team in Sydney Australia in June 2006. Previously, Rod spent 2.5 years with Westpac Institutional Bank in Australia where he co-ordinated Westpac’s coverage of junior and emerging resources companies. Prior to Westpac, Rod worked at Barclays Capital where he had a number of roles over a 12 year period. Rod was a member of Barclays’ Mining & Metals team for 6 years in both London and Sydney and was most recently responsible for Barclays’ Mining & Metals activities in Asia Pacific including Australia.

Rod has gained significant experience in the financing of mining companies and projects and associated risk management. Particular experience includes base metal mining, smelting and refining and gold mine financings.
 
Rod holds a BSc (Hons) in Money, Banking & Finance from the University of Birmingham (UK) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK).
