Benjamin Philip G Romualdez has been at the heart of the revitalisation of the Philippine resources sector in recent years. Philip has carried out the dual roles of president of the Philippines Chamber of Mines and president of the ASEAN Federation of Mining Associations (AFMA) since 2003. In these roles he has played an integral part in encouraging development and foreign investment in the mining sectors of South-East Asia, most recently acting as host for the seventh Asia-Pacific Mining Conference in his home city of Manila.

After gaining a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, Philip completed a Master of Letters at Oxford University. His professional career took him to the Benguet Corporation where he became a board member in 1992. Since 1998 he has served Benguet as both president and chief executive officer.

As well as his work with Benguet, the Chamber and AFMA, Philip serves as a director of various councils and organisations, including the Philippine-Australia Business Council and the Philippines-Saudi Arabia Business Council.

Philip lives in Manila with his wife Maria and their three children.
